It's been a long time since I turned on the light in this room. Blogging is like when I gave up smoking. It a took a lot of attempts before it took. Maybe this time. I'm working on a story about a researcher who gives oral contraceptives to squirrels. Laugh all you want. There's a bigger idea here. What happens when there's more wildlife than we want? Wildlife conservation has been a great success. It used to be to see a wild turkey was big deal. Now, they scrabble alongside the road. Suburbanites look out their windows and don't see one deer browsing the shrubs, they see half a dozen -- or more. The flip side of the wildlife biology coin is wildlife management -- pest control with a graduate degree.
